Staff Specialist – Anaesthetics

✅ Deliver expert medical assessment and management within the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management.
 ✅ Provide high-quality patient care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
 ✅ Contribute to clinical leadership, education, and training of junior doctors.
 ✅ Participate in on-call rosters, ensuring timely, patient-centered care.
 ✅ Engage in quality assurance, clinical audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
 ✅ Be actively involved in research and evidence-based best practices.

Requirements:

To apply for this position, you will need: Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, or eligibility via an overseas-trained specialist pathway either the expedited Specialist pathway or SIMG pathway. 

  1. Expedited Pathway (Ireland): Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland (or as previously named, the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland) (FCAI), together with a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST). OR;
  2. Expedited Pathway (UK): Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCA), together with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). OR;
  3. SIMG Pathway: ANZCA assessment outcome report 1 with partial or Substantial comparability.
