This large University Trust is looking to employ talented and motivated SHO level doctors to join the Tier 1 Rota covering General and Emergency Paediatrics. The hospital offers a fantastic induction and informal training opportunities to facilitate a move to SCF after completion of middle grade competencies.  


Main Duties:

As an SHO in General and Emergency Paediatrics you will be expected to:

  • Take responsibility in day to day care of the paediatric inpatients.
  • Conduct daily ward rounds under supervision in the Children’s Ward and present findings to the consultant in charge.
  • Reviewing and attending to acute referrals.
  • Attend paediatric outpatient clinic.
  • Take on calls in the Paediatric Assessment unit (PAU).
  • Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team in the Children’s Emergency Department.
  • Ensuring the completion of clinic letters and patient discharges.
  • Non-clinical Work including audit and quality improvement.

The Hospital

  • The hospital is part of a large University Teaching Trust in Southeast London.
  • There are 900+ beds in this hospital providing all aspects of planned and emergency care.
  • The trust offers Tertiary Neonatal Care (NICU) but this is beyond the scope of this role.

Requirements:

In order to apply for this role, you will need:

  • MRCPCH Part 1 and 2
  • Completed GMC Registration
  • IELTS or OET if you are coming from overseas
  • Over 5 years Paediatric specific experience
