Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+) Medicine

Main Duties:

• Work as a middle grade doctor in one of the following sub-specialties: Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Cardiology, General Medicine.
• Work along colleagues from other specialties as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Participate in the General Medicine on call rota.
• Liaise with consultants regarding treatment plan.
• Act as a senior member of the resuscitation team when required.
• Help train junior clinicians within department.
• Engage in quality improvement projects that take place in department.

A medium-sized acute district general hospital based in the South West of England. The Medicine departments at the hospital are very supportive and friendly so it’s a great environment to kickstart your UK career. The hospital has a well-established reputation for funding some large research projects over recent years and doctors are encouraged to get involved. 

The location:

The South West is a wonderful place to live, especially so for those with young families. The area is a tourist hotspot in the summer and is well-known for its warmer climate and beautiful coastal scenery. You have the choice of living in some amazing rural locations or if you prefer a more urban lifestyle, then you can live in cities like Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth.

Requirements:

To apply for this position, you will need the following:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification - MRCP (UK), MRCP (Ireland), PLAB, USMLE, Sri Lankan MD etc.
• English qualification e.g. IELTS/OET
• GMC registration complete or in process
• Registrar experience either in the UK or overseas
• At least five years of experience working specifically in Medicine.
