Job Title – Registrar (PHO), General Medicine

Salary Range – $129,583 - $150,240

Location – Queensland, 1hr to Brisbane

Duration – 24 months

Main Duties:

  1. Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Care – Provide high-quality medical care to patients under the supervision of senior physicians. This includes assessment, diagnosis, management, and treatment of a range of medical conditions.
  2. Comprehensive Clinical Assessments – Conduct thorough assessments of patients in medical wards, outpatient clinics, and emergency presentations requiring medical review.
  3. Investigation and Management – Order and interpret investigations, formulate management plans, and ensure appropriate treatment pathways for all patients.
  4. Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration – Work closely with allied health professionals, nursing staff, and specialty teams to deliver holistic patient care.
  5. Documentation and Record-Keeping – Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring clear communication of treatment plans and clinical findings.
  6. On-call and After-hours Roster Participation – Participate in the on-call and after-hours roster, ensuring continuity of care for medical inpatients.
  7. Education and Training – Engage in teaching, mentoring junior staff, and participating in scheduled educational activities.
  8. Research and Quality Improvement – Contribute to departmental research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service efficiency.

This urban district hospital provides services across a range of medical specialties, including General Medicine, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, and more. Requirements:

To apply for this role, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • UK or Irish medical graduates with at least two years of clinical experience.
     OR
  • 12 months of NHS experience and completion of PLAB examinations.

Additionally:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in General Medicine.
