Paediatric Middle Grade Doctor (ST3-8 equivalent)

This opportunity suits an experienced paediatrician, comfortable in General Paediatrics, Paediatric Emergency medicine and Level 2 Neonatology. This is a prestigious Trust with a highly specialized Paediatric Team who are looking for a confident middle grade to join their well-established Team.
Main Duties:
As a middle grade trust doctor, you will be expected to:
- Undertake the ward round, supervised by the consultant
- Assess patients admitted to the paediatric assessment unit
- Supervise tier 1 trainees in assessing patients and undertaking clinical tasks
- Support timely completion of discharge summaries
- Ensure high quality handover of patients to the on call or day team as appropriate
- Covering the postnatal ward and delivery suite
- Undertake initial assessment and initiation of treatment to newly admitted babies
- Offer advice and support to the maternity staff in the care of newborns
- Fulfil the duty of the weekly timetable including any out-of-hours responsibilities
- Attend remote outpatient consultations, with selected children and young people attending face to face

- This is a well-regarded trust known for its clinical excellence reflected in a CQC report rating the overall service “good”. The Trust has 565 total beds and serves a child population of 80,000
- The Paediatric department has 14 Neonatal SCBU cots with 3 designated for NICU and 3 for High Dependency

- The Hospital is within 1.5 hours of an international airport which makes flying to visit family and for vacation time easy and accessible
Requirements:
To apply for this position, you will need the following:
- Full MRCPCH (essential)
- GMC Registration
- Senior or specialist experience overseas
- NHS registrar grade experience taking part on tier 2 Rota is desirable
- Experience in level 2 Neonatology (ideally with past Tertiary NICU expertise)
