NHS Specialist in Medical Oncology in Renal, Sarcoma and Melanoma
This is a unique opportunity to cover multiple specialist sites. The role is excellent for Oncologists with extensive specialty experience however aren’t quite ready to practice as a Consultant in the NHS. You will have a senior NHS rota with your own patient lists, with the supervision of a Consultant to ensure that you’re fully supported in your practice. You’ll receive relevant training and guidance to obtain Specialist Registration via CESR. The rota will be on the basis of a standard 10PA = 40-hour p/w job plan, which is likely to include the following;
- Specialisation in Renal, Sarcoma and Melanoma
- Prescribing chemotherapy and managing treatment complications
- Running your own Out-Patient clinics
- Conducting ward rounds
- Teaching Undergraduate/Postgraduate/junior colleagues
- Actively recruiting patient for clinical trials
- Attending relevant MDTs within your areas of interest

Oncology Cancer Centre
You will be joining a leading Cancer Centre with a comprehensive systemic therapy service and a high degree of specialisation for all major tumour sites. The team serve a large population, providing a wide range of different cases. The Centre is closely linked with the local University and neighbouring Cancer Centres to provide excellent teaching and training opportunities. They also have close links with cancer research networks and institutes to run clinical trials across the whole region. The team are very friendly and diverse, and are familiar with supporting overseas trained doctors in their NHS career development.

The Requirements
- Full GMC Registration
- Full MRCP (UK) or equivalent post-graduate qualification
- Minimum 12 years post-graduate experience, incl. 6 years Oncology experience
