The Post

  • Delivering clinical care and leadership
  • Using your experience to further develop the service alongside the Clinical Lead
  • Contributing towards the general radiology workload
  • Experience of Chest and Cardiac imaging is essential (including intervention)
  • Clinical Audits
  • Training and Supervision of Junior Radiologists
  • Participate in Mentoring
  • Dedicated SPA (Service development, Clinical governance, teaching, CME/CPD
  • 8.5 PA DCC
  • 2.5 SPA
  • 1:20 On-Call
  • Home Reporting Stations available

Radiology Department

The department performs a substantial number of examinations per year. The successful applicant will be joining a consultant body of 30+ FTE Radiologists and a department with over 100 radiographic staff. This department operates within a busy teaching hospital, so sees a full spectrum of cases. There is the opportunity to further develop secondary interests.

  • 6 CT Scanners
  • 4 MRI Scanners
  • New Diagnostic Assessment Centre opening soon
  • 5 Ultrasound Rooms
  • PACS Workstations with integrated voice recognition

It is a teaching hospital with world-class facilities. Secondary and tertiary care are provided. Nearly one million people live there. As a result of its lifestyle, the local area is often voted among the top ten places to live in the UK. Beautiful countryside and easy access to beaches make this area a great place to live. The city centre has many fantastic shops and a lively atmosphere. Direct fast trains run regularly to the capital as well.
